Volunteering at MTR might be the best thing you have ever done for yourself, and for our participants.

Volunteers are essential to delivering a safe and purposeful program for both our participants and horses. We believe your involvement at MTR will be enriching, offering opportunities for connection, learning, and meaningful service.

Our programs run year-round, seven days a week from 7 AM to 7 PM. Volunteers play a vital role by working alongside our dedicated staff to build a team that helps care for our horses, maintain the facility, support lessons, and assist with a variety of important tasks.

Every volunteer helps create meaningful, successful moments for our participants. Whether you’re a seasoned equestrian or new to horses and eager to learn, we invite you to join our team and be part of the powerful healing journey that our participants experience every day.

Additionally, MTR relies on the generous donations of time and effort from volunteer service groups to help care for our facilities and assist with larger projects on the farm.

Requirements to Volunteer at MTR
Due to insurance regulations and PATH Intl. standards, all volunteers must be at least 14 years old. No exceptions to this policy are possible.

Please wear closed-toe shoes, and barn and weather-appropriate attire.

Volunteering may involve moderate physical activity and working outside in varying weather conditions.

Volunteers must possess the ability to follow directions, take instructions, and work independently with minimal staff supervision.

Due to insurance requirements, the nature of the services provided and the population served, it is MTR’s policy that potential volunteers will not be accepted into the program who have been charged with a crime within the last 5 years.
