I grew up riding horses and then took a long break, and when my husband and I bought our first house down the street from MTR, I was driving by the farm on a daily basis, missing horses in my life, and wondered if they needed volunteers. And they did!
What I love most about my role as Operations Manager at MTR is the unique opportunity to support the behind-the-scenes functions that help bring our mission to life. I enjoy being a part of—and witnessing firsthand—the incredible teamwork and dedication that drives our organization forward. It’s deeply rewarding to know that the work happening in the background plays a part in the magic that unfolds every day at the barn. Seeing the remarkable impact of our programs on participants, volunteers, and families reminds me just how powerful this work truly is.
The real, meaningful connections that are formed here every day. Whether it’s between staff, volunteers, participants, or our incredible horses, there’s a genuine sense of belonging the moment you come down the driveway. I love being part of a space that lifts each other up and allows people (and animals) to show up exactly as they are. It’s a rare and beautiful thing to be in an environment where everyone is supported to grow, heal, and connect in their own way.
Finding new, unique places to visit and explore, and finding the best (kid-friendly) restaurants I can.
I love traveling, especially internationally! And will rarely go to the same location twice (to the displeasure of my husband). An unexpected, odd hobby of mine is creating travel itineraries to countries and cities all over the world… broken down to the hour, including accommodations, restaurants, activities… every last detail! Most of which I will likely never end up doing.
