MTR expands administrative offices and brings in rented office space that will accommodate all staff and allow for additional learning space.

As programs grew, the “Pony Palace” was built by a generous group of volunteers. The addition of these stalls allowed MTR to expand their herd of equine partners.

MTR had the distinct privilege of being the inaugural recipient of the Impact 100 Grant, thus allowing us to purchase our truck and horse trailer.  Because of the generosity of the Impact 100 organization, we were able to begin our “MTR On the Road” program.

Launched a refreshed brand from Maryland Therapeutic Riding to MTR with a tagline of Horses That Heal, reflecting the deep impact of services and better connecting with the broader community.

Our long-time equine partner Splash was named Therapy Horse of the Year by the Pennsylvania National Horse Show Foundation.

Recognized as a USEF Para-Dressage Center of Excellence, one of only eight in the US at the time.

Successfully completed the Assure Our Mission Capital Campaign. With strong community support, the organization paid off the farm mortgage, becoming entirely debt-free.

Opened the Wellness Pavilion, a tranquil and multifunctional outdoor space funded by The Phillips Charitable Foundation, further expanding programming and participant comfort.

Received the prestigious Maryland Horse Discovery Center designation, recognizing the farm as a premier equine education center.

All services suspended due to COVID-19 pandemic. The team quickly pivoted to launch virtual and unmounted programs to maintain connection and support. As restrictions lifted, services resumed in a phased, safety-first approach.
